Emerson is in a lovely part of Boston. It's right on the Commons. They seem to have a lot of money, too. It's also a good choice for gay students, because it's a very accepting environment. I don't know if that's important to you or not...

Most of the students I know who go to Emerson really like it there. Boston's a college town, so things never get boring!

Emerson does sound like a nice place. It is good that they are accepting of gay people (even though I am not...)---id rather not go to an ultra conservative school....i'd rather go to one with a little diversity

Something to think about i suppose

I've been thinking either Academy of Art, UCLA, or NYU. I think UCLA would be the best place to start in the industry because, well, thats where its all at.

Academy of Art isnt a good place to go at all. They are a proprietary school, a busniess, rather than an educational institution. They arent accredited by anything and own all their student's work like USC (at least that was the case a few years ago when I was applying to schools). Also, they have a 100% acceptance rate. If a video store clerk has never touched a camera in his life, thinks it would be "cool" to go to film school and has the money he could go to Academy of Art without any portfolio or questions asked. As for UCLA...they have kind of been fading out as a film school as far as my understanding goes.
