I've read some not so good reviews on full sail, so the next thing I'm looking at is LA Film School.

What is everyone's opinion on that?

I think with the LA film school and others like it, such as Full Sail, are more hands-on workshop oriented schools. The good thing about Full Sail is that it offers a bachelors degree which I don't think the LA film school offers...
In either case, I bet these schools offer little, if any, instruction on understanding the language of film and the empahasis on story telling, but rather just teach technical stuff about production.
That's just my impression though. I could be wrong

You are correct. LAFS does not have a BA degree and their AA degree is a joke.

It is hands on but the instruction is very poor, the classes are overcrowded and many of your classes will be online (which the students hate) -- the reason they went to online courses is their buildings are too overcrowded and they don't have enough classrooms.

This school is all about marketing, not about education. Their MO is to sell and market like crazy, cash your check and then forget about you. It's a diploma mill. Their scam (and this is true of most of these private and online colleges) is that they collect 85% of all government student loans. Big scandal about it on 60 Minutes last month. Most of these schools are a scam.

Stick to real film schools like USC, Chapman, etc.

I was at LAFS and I regret every minute of it.

You are right about this. One thing however, Full Sail owns LA Film School and the two are becoming the same kind of rip off.

Full Sail is a school for people who are going to work at Channel 9 news in Memphis. Even they admit that almost none of their students go into the the real film business creatively.

LA Film School is flashy but it's all marketing. The teachers are almost all LAFS grads who have never worked in the real film business. The teachers recently tried to form a union because they were so unhappy with the crappy management. The owners spends tons of money to defeat the union so teacher morale is like zero. Most of the teachers there hate the school and are just waiting to get out of there.

Most students who go there are sorry they did. ALmost everyone in my graduating classs ended up regretting their choice.
