That would be a better course of action.
Full Sail is a lot of money. A LOT OF MONEY. A TON OF FREAKING MONEY... For a basically technical degree... For classes at 2AM in the morning and other hurdles like that. They can accredit it any way they wish. The question is is it as viable as any other degree when it comes to the competitive nature of this industry. I wouldn't think that it holds as much weight, that's just me. Others on here will be better able to answer that question than I could.
I have been on a set or two with more than a few Full Sail grads and for what they lack in knowledge they make up in hustle, but that too only gets you so far...
I guess it depends on your goals. I personally would NOT go there if I wanted to be a screenwriter. Or a creative producer. Or a director. Or a lighting or set designer. Again that's just me.
I think you should go to a local in-state community college, if that's where time and budget have you right now. Then look to transfer out to a larger school if the Muse in your head won't shut her freaking mouth.
Then again what do I know.... others will tell me how wrong I am for sure. LOL.
Be patient.
Everyone on here right now is very self-consumed... pacing the floor in God's waiting room, wondering if they are going to get tapped to enter the "big show", to go "behind the velvet rope" aka the college of their choice.
They have no time to answer these types of questions....LOL...the dialogue in their heads is already filled with such inane chatter:
"Where's my freaking acceptance letter?"... (refresh) "Who got accepted today?"...(refresh)..."Maybe I should call the admissions office... again?"... (refresh)... "I know I sent the application in but maybe they'll let me correct the flow of this one line on my essay...." (refresh)... (refresh)...(refresh)....
Oh...did I say that out loud?...
Gotta go "refresh" myself...
Namaste and may your journey be a good one.
