Greetings all, my first post. This may be a bit off the target for this forum, but I thought I would give it a shot. My son is a freshman in a small liberal arts college. He has a talent for writing which we encourage, but he has a passion for computer games, as so many of his contemporaries do. He was looking to marry the two by writing scenarios for computer games and then producing them. He has contacted the LA Film School and my question to the forum is what can you tell me about this school? Is it respected? Anyone have any insight?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Pete

There are a lot of discussions about this school on here if you do a search.

I don't recommend leaving a degree program for a certificate program.

USC has an amazing Interactive media division...I'd check it out.

Thanks for the response. It is my understanding that the LA Film School now offers as Associates Degree. I will do a search and read on. I will also look into USC.

I know that Carnegie Melon offers a game production degree that is pretty well respected. The undergrad program offers a degree in Computer science and art, and allows students to focus on game design, http://www.cmu.edu/interdiscip...ams/bcsaprogram.html

My daughter's boyfriend is in the truly amazing interactive media program at USC. Check it out!
Also, the USC engineering and I believe computer science divisions also offer gaming programs/courses you might want to check into.
I think the future looks pretty bright for folks with talents in these areas.
