So confused

Ok after researching I'm still a little confused about something. If I'm in my last year of high school this year, can I apply to UCLA's film program for Fall 2010? I still don't understand the 'we don't admit at freshman level' statement on their BA page...

If I can't, just out of curiosity, does this apply to other film schools?

And how would I get in then?

Also if possible, please explain in Layman's terms, because I don't live in the US and a lot of the terms confuse me Frown

As I understand it, you get into UCLA as an undeclared major then apply to the film school to just before your junior year.

It's a big risk.

As far as I know, it's the only program that I've heard of doing this.

Sorry, what do you mean by undeclared major?

So, is applying to the film school completely separate to applying to UCLA? i.e. I apply to UCLA, study non-film related subjects for 2 years, then apply for the film program & internally transfer if I make it? I don't have to go to UCLA (for the first 2 years) do I? Also do I wait 2 years and then apply (& not at the end of this year)?
