yo "hatts" I speak for myself...but if I'm able to make a living as a filmmaker ("high school level crap" motions pictures or better) I'll be thrilled.

It's not very difficult at all. See the Saw films? See the garbage people love and spend money on right now? Hell, why go that high-brow. Porn's a big, booming, billion-dollar industry. We shouldn't be learning from idiots like Rodriguez on how to make films. We have digital cameras now- we can all do what he does without reading his drivel. And here, while we're students, we shouldn't be discussing how to "break in" to the biz, we should be discussing how to make the films we want to make.

Robert shot his first feature on film and recorded most of his dialogue in ADR. Suffice it to say, if Robert Rodriguez was able to start his filmmaking career on an old 16mm camera, imagine what you can do with HD? I agree that everyone should learn the fundamentals. But I hesitated way longer than I should have when it came to getting a feature produced. With Robert's book, the passion and fundamentals are solid.
