Hey i'm looking for a free composor who can help me out and will be fully credited in the music video. Just this past weekend i filmed a music band for a local band. The mp3 they have just doesn't sound the greatest im just wondering if there are any composors who can take a look at the mp3 and try something with it to get it to sound a bit better.

Thanks.

Hm, it sounds like You need more of a sound engineer? At least if You want to fix-up a recorded MP3. Or did You have something else in mind???

Regards,
Rico

Yeah basically it need to be boosted up it just seems low as well as the vocals need to boosted. I'm just trying to get a more cleaned up and enhansed version of this mp3 for my music video. Anyone out there that can take a look at the mp3 and try some stuff with it.

Also if you can please provide some instant messenger info for easier contact, because i need this mp3 for TONIGHT!

Thanks,
Andrew Wood

Hi wdy. If you give me a link to the song I can try to listen to it in my studio. If it is in a already finished mp3 there is not much one can do other than pushing it through a few mastering effect (multiband compressor, sonic enhancement etc), but I can have a look.

If you have the tracks seperately it would help a lot, especially if you want to bring up the vocals in the mix.

Right, not much you can do now.

Here's how video guys should think of audio (stereo files that is). Whatever elements are in a stereo file are "locked". Once the "mix" goes to a stereo file there's not much you can do... like I said it's "locked" at that point.

Here's an analogy: Say I have a glass of water and two different colored food colorings, blue and red. I drip a drop of each color into the glass and stir it. Then I'm asked if I can remove only the red drop. Sorry too late.......

In fact, at this point I can't separate the water from the food coloring either.

That's how audio works....

Yeah, this whole song needs to be re-recorded and remixed. There is really nothing that can be done here. Tell the band that you think they should record this song again, find an audio production guy, and send him the masters of the recording. Here is what I think needs to be done (Everyone else pitch in with ideas too):

There needs to be 2 guitar recordings (even if they are exactly the same).

The drum-kit needs to have seperate recordings of EACH drum, cymbal, tom, ect.

Needs a bass guitar.

Vocals could be recorded about 5 times (this sounds weird but sometimes it can really add something to have more than one vocal track).

Better Microphones will help this out by FAR. I know they are expensive, but they can be worth it.

Hope for the best, and have fun with it wdy!
