Hello everybody,

I finally put together a half-decent site.
Seriously, you should have seen what my old site looked like (no link here, hehe).

Please take a look at it, let me know of any broken links or anything that doesn't work. For some reason it's been known to freeze up some browsers, but I have no idea why this is happening (help, anyone?).
And by all means, let me know what you think of the music!

E.

p.s.: I noticed my fellow composers have started listening to each other's work and giving each other feedback, which is very cool. But we don't hear from the filmmakers so often, which is why we're here to begin with!

Hey! Nice little site Smile

I'd change it so music doesn't play by itself, because people tend to dislike that.

...and I thought it was so cool...
Come to think about it, I hate it when a page is full of popups, specially when they take longer to load than the page you wanted to see in the first place...
Maybe I'll keep the one on the Home page and remove the rest of 'em...

Anyway, thanks for the input, TD.

I know... I know... it's cool.... but you just can't do it Big Grin

People hate it. Sites just shouldn't make sounds without being bidden to, even when those sounds are really cool music.

Hi,
I just checked out your website. I like your samples. What equipment are you using? Especially for the rythm. Any special drum synths?

Great

Hey Frank,

Thanks for the kind words. If by rhythm you mean drums and percussion, that's mostly loops, not drum synths.

Being originally a drummer/percussionist myself, I will ocassionally tweak and play around with some of these loops until I get what I want, but always starting from a live take (for you non-musicians reading this post, no, this is NOT the same as using Garage Band).

Kinda like Recycle, but I do it by hand, which enables me to place the sounds around the beat in a way that they are more expessive for the particular piece I'm working on.

Then, superimposing the tweaked/programmed loop on top of a real loop (that you keep in the background) adds for a natural feel.

If you meant the whole rhythm section, that's a whole different story. Most guitars I record from real players, and everything else is mostly samples/synths, but I always play the parts on the keyboard and try to quantize as little as possible.

If you need any more information, just PM me.

Peace,

E.

Works fine in Opera, good design and easy navigation. Just change the '©2006...' to 2007 and try getting yourself a domain. You can get a free one at http://www.freedomain.co.nr/.

Gotcha!

The site's address now is: www.emiliodmiler.com.ar

Changed the copyright notice as well.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Now, any thoughts on the music?

Cheers,

E.
