RED Alert
Take part in a live, interactive, 24 hour digital transmission


We would like you to submit a short video film or still as a personal expression of (RED). We would like you to include the color red in your film. Red is the color of love, blood, danger, passion, beauty.

For 24 hours on World Aids Day all submissions will be mixed together to music by selected DJs and musicians and streamed live on MySpace, Dazed Digital and (RED) web sites and beamed live onto a large screen in Trafalgar Square. The whole broadcast will be stored in 15 minute searchable pods.

Red Alert will capture a global mindset as a virtual tapestry of contributions. It will be still images, illustrations, graphics and animated sequences – all punctuated with special video presentations appearing live in succession across our computer screens. It’s about a culture that is constantly on the move trying to seize the moment inspire each other to do something positive.

Every year 3 million people die from AIDS. Of the 40 million people infected by HIV/AIDS, Africa is home to 60% (25 million), making it the leading cause of death.

Red Alert will be the front page to an essential portal of accessible information and personal stories on HIV AIDS, designed to spread awareness, combat prejudice and inspire action.



SUBMISSION DETAILS

- Your message can be video or still - video can be any length less than 15 minutes long

- It should contain the color red in some way

- The brief a personal expression of RED - but if you need inspiration or a theme choose a red word – see attached sheet

- Feel free to create something new, or send us something you have made already which feels relevant

- Please provide any credits you want published with your submission

- You can email your submission to: REDalert@dazeddigital.com, or upload to the DazedDigital website: www.DazedDigital.com/projects/REDalert/

- We can accept the following formats
Image: .JPEG, .JPG, .TIFF, .PNG, .GIF, .PSD, .AI, .EPS
Video: (online) QuickTime, MPEG, MPEG, AVI (via post) DVD, DV, Hi-8, Digital8, Betacam SP, DigiBeta. We can also accept flash files from animators. For any other formats, please contact us

- We are accepting contributions from today, up until the day of the event
