I would say thats a good enough reason. Smile 4GB or 8GB, by the way?

Agreed, lets stop the ripping on those that have on...no point really. Let's find out how Josh got an awesome piece of technology for free.

Those of you bashing it I'm sure wouldn't turn it down for free haha.

Do you work for Apple. Every single one of Apple's employees gets a free 8gb iPhone. I have a chance to work for Apple...in a few months. Darnit.

If I got one for free I'd probably sell it, giving me 600 dollars to spend on practical things.

Wow, what a thread.

That's like nine minutes of my life I'll never get back.

The iphone looks sweet, but the At&T exclusivity and price tag puts it out of my league.

That and I don't really need it.

For those of you that want it/need it/hate it, good for you.

I respect your opinions.

And, that is the end of this pointless post.

If I could get one for free or had a ton of disposable income I'd get one. But honestly it's overpriced and does much less than the competition.

I agree with Larry's points but not his rhetoric. We survived a long time w/o the iPhone. Of course eventually everyone will have one and for a while i will be depressed but then it will kick in that a personal computer isn't going away.

I dunno. Enjoy your iPhones people. I'll wait a few generations and get one that's half the price.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Maybe a few consumers will realize they don't actually "need" an iPhone and rethink their lives and go live in the woods, but I hope most people don't shun innovation for fear that they become dependent on the convenience.

Anyway, people who embody pragmatism are usually boring. I need a new car, but instead of buying one I bought some gorilla costumes, and they're awesome. Checkmate.

The iPhone does look cool, but I'm holding out for robot legs.

I would kill for a robot hand. It would have awesome attachments like Dr. Claw.

You are a real ####### if you think that the iphone, which in my opinion is completely useless, is any way analogous to robotic legs that could changes the lives of millions of people.

First off all, we were tossing the idea or robot legs around completely in jest.

Second of all, handicapped people should be content with using wheel chairs. If they gave into the convenience of using robot legs, they should be ashamed for surrendering to pathetic consumerism and triviality.
