I'm making a film about a character who only really 'lives' when watching a movie. At other times she 'sleepwalks through life'.

This will be shown by enhancing/degrading the quality of the film (sound/image/speed). These effects should be individually subtle, but add up to an overall impression for the viewer.

I have access to Final Cut Pro (at college), but only for a limited time, and I don't have much experience. Can anyone suggest suitable treatments/filters to achieve these effects to save me a some of the trial and error, please?
