AVID Question

Hey, I'm editing my film using AVID. I have worked with AVID for awhile and have never had any problems. Recently however, I was adding several transitions to my cuts (dissolves and wipes) and none of them would play back in my project window.

I'm editing on a mac so I don't think a virus is to blame, but can't see any other reason that this would happen.

Any help would be great.

Are you getting an error? What's happening? If the screen is flashing make sure you don't have a window infront of or behind the composer window as that will sometimes cause it to flash during playback.

I'm not getting any error messages or anything. The clip simply plays as if the effect was never there.

I even tried rendering the dissolve (Even though I know I don't have to) just in case, but that did nothing.

The problem is probably your quality mode, the little green/yellow/half green-half yellow oval on the bottom left hand corner of your timeline window. Render these effects. If this still doesnt work, check the drive you are rendering to.

What version of MC and OS are you running? This seems strange.

Try creating a "test" user to see if it still happens.

Quit out of Avid, go to the Application folder, then to the Settings folder, and trash MCstate, Site settings, and site attributes.

Relaunch and then see if it still happens.
