Thats right folks, the first nice thing this company has ever done for the little guys.

Avid has announced they will soon be releasing a free version of Avid called, Avid DV Free (clever)
It will be somewhat limited (only 2 video tracks, and 4 audio tracks) but will have the classic Avid interface, that, once mastered should make the use of higher end version a simple matter of learning a few new comands.

So, if youv ever wanted to check it out, or, if your just in need of some good free editing software, hit this address:
http://www.avid.com/company/releases/2003/030107_AvidFreeDV_prod.html

There, sign up for info (when it asks what software you wish to have information on, be sure to select "Avid DV Free") and your set. Hope this helps more than a few.

What a surprise!!!!

Guess you missed the thread about this a couple of weeks ago Tizz ( http://forums.studentfilms.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=2086066451&f=7246029451&m=8506060791 ) Cool. I would also argue that Xpress DV was something big that Avid did for "We little folk."

Oh Crap. Well... this post was for those who missed the last one. Yeah...er, thats it, yeah. Anyway, I guess it was worth repeating.

Also, dont get me wrong, I love Avid. Avid is my editing system of choice, and I guess, the truth is nobody else is just given it away. So, Hurray for Avid.
