Hello SF.com. My name is Drew Brinkhaus, and I'm from southern Colorado. Over the past couple years, I had wanted to attend film school in hopes of becoming a director. Then one day I realized, I like directing and all, but I wouldnt be able to handle it in the real world. Far to much stress. Since those days I have studied intensley on the field of DOP. For months on end I read books on composition, theory, etc. and practiced framing and lighting on my free time. I love the freedom of creating a shot comp and affecting how the film is percieved visually. I love this community, its great.

Shot by Shot. By stephen D. Katz. Its primarily for directors, but does contain large amounts of work on camera movement, angles, line of sequence, reversels, etc. Its pretty professional as well. Not some kiddie jargon, etc.
