Welcome to Studentfilms.com, the online film discussion forum for filmmakers and students who are applying to film school, attending film school, need advice on making films, or just want to share their films with the world.
Starting the week of January 3rd, I'm going to be starting a personal project of writing, shooting, editing, and reviewing a new short film each week for four months. That means 16 shorts in 16 weeks. This is a big endeavor for me, seeing how I have school to deal with as well. The purpose of this is simple, I want to hone my skills, leading up to my 10 minute short I'm shooting in May. I'm not sure if I'm going to share my videos online, but I'll keep everyone in the loop! I'm excited for these fun couple of weeks.
Let me get this straight, are you saying you're going to write, shoot, and edit a short film every week for the next four months?
If I got this right, just remember that quality is more important than quantity. If you're doing this ambitious challenge to hone your skills, then the training is valid. Keep us posted on your progress.
Best of luck,

One-minute scenes are feasible. This might be an interesting prologue to your short in May. Since essentially they are just exercises, you could post them online, so we can see what approach you had. Hope all works out.
