Learn the secrets to writing a good sitcom from successful writer Dave Cohen. The course begins by focusing on how to create your sitcom, and to build the most important elements of a show: character, plot, and dialogue. You’ll learn about the differences in writing for audience or non-audience, BBC or commercial sector, mass or specialized audiences, radio, an established show, or the American sitcom market. The course ends with valuable information about the commissioning process and who to contact to sell your sitcom.
The instructor, Dave Cohen, has written for dozens of radio and TV shows including ‘News Quiz’, ‘Sunday Format’, ‘Dead Ringers’ and ‘Spitting Image’, and is a regular writer for ‘Have I Got News For You’, as well as the BBC1 sitcoms ‘Not Going Out’ and ‘My Family’.
The course takes place on Saturday 28 November from 9:30am-6:00pm. For more information and to register for the class, go to http://bit.ly/1MreLe
