Welcome to Studentfilms.com, the online film discussion forum for filmmakers and students who are applying to film school, attending film school, need advice on making films, or just want to share their films with the world.
I am planning to apply for grad schools in USA. Since I got a lot of info from this forum, I think you could give me the best advice for my last choices.
Here is my list:
CALARTS CAPMAN SAIC OU SFSU UWM SFAI RIT SIUC
Because I was totally new to the schools in USA, I've been reseaching the US News, Film School Confidential, Filmmaker.com and this forum. I wish I would be accepted any of those, but I do not actually know there is any 'safety' school for me. My GPA 3.2
Could you give me advice?

I'm not sure what all those abbreviations stand for, but you should probably apply to as many schools as you can that you feel are a good match for the specific things you want to do with film, and if you're fortunate enough to be accepted to more than one, ask for advice about which one to choose then.

CALARTS : California Institute of the Arts CHAPMAN : Chapman University SAIC : Art Institute of Chicago OU : Ohio University SFSU : San Francisco State Unicersity UWM : University of Wisconsin Madison SFAI : San Francisco Art Institute RIT : Rochester Institute of Technology SIUC : Southern Illinois University - Carbondale
Briefly introduce myself : - BA degree of 4-year university - 12 years experience as a free lance web designer - some experience as a spot editor for a feature - HD short (30'), synthetic DV short (9') Award-winning DV short (4')
I don't know whether I am qualified for any of schools above. It must be depending on my SOP or supporting materials. However, before applying those schools, I thought I should have known about the schools.
Any Idea? This message has been edited. Last edited by: soulin,

I'm sure you messed up when you put UMW as Rochester Institute of Technology instead of University of Wisconsin Madison. CalArts and Chapman have to very good Masters programs, but I don't know much about the others.
