Hi, rob, congratulations for the acceptance. I also applied for Producing but haven't heard anything yet. Just wondering when did your application compelete? Because I compelete mine juts 2 days before the deadline. Just wish I still get chance to get in the program. And how did you get your notification? Via email or by regular mail? | | | | Posts: 50 | Location: Miami | Registered: February 14, 2011 |

Hi, Rob, GA means Graduate Assistant. That means I can work in my department and get a little bit payment. Basically the fellowship just cut off part of my tuition. I am sorry it is inconvenience for me to post the detail of it. | | | | Posts: 50 | Location: Miami | Registered: February 14, 2011 |

| Hi guys, I am a new here. Just want to get more information about the UM film program.
I know most people here talk about the big 5 and also FSU, Chapman, UT and CalArts. Seems not so many people discuss Miami a lot. But I am really interested in their program and want to learn more about it. Is there have anyone actually study in the program right now can provide some information about the program?
When I search the forum I find an alumni from there called Kurt Wagner on this site told a lot of the program, but most of his infomation seems negative. Is there any positive or advantages of this program? I mean the advantages not only about the location, the party, I mean the advantages about the program itself. Like professors, courses, and future connections, etc.
Wish can get some suggestions from you guys. Thanks! | | | | Posts: 1 | Location: universe | Registered: April 01, 2011 |

| I posted this in another thread: Here's my situation: I was rejected by Chapman, but accepted to University of Miami. I have only one week to accept or decline Miami, and of course a lot things are wandering my head. I'm nervous about Miami because of the mixed reviews, price, and location. A friend of mine went to UCLA undergrad by doing online courses and eventually transferring to the LA campus. I'm curious if this route is also possible for Masters degrees. If anyone can weigh in on this, much would be appreciated. I live in Memphis, TN and the movie scene here is alive, but there is no infrastructure and really no connections to studios. I'd like to leave soon, but I'm afraid of going to the wrong place. I also am curious about this possible "LA Satellite Campus." That's some talk I've heard about Miami. I'm going to call a number of folks today to gather more information.
