Hi Guys. I just accepted in to the Film Directing MFA program. Is it me or is it that everyone who's applied has got it? Would love to know what the acceptance ratio is.

And how would you rate the school?

@GodIsACowboy When did u apply for scholarship and when did u get notified? Separately or did you get notified along with the admission offer?

If your assessment that everyone has gotten in is based on this thread - it's been pretty much dead. All the other schools that make regular appearances on the forum have like 16 pages by now. So I think its just that nobody has posted on this thing.

I didn't apply for the scholarship, but was notified about it on March 31 via an email that my financial aid document was now available. In order to check the status, you log onto http://aar.calarts.edu/student.html and follow the instructions. The Log on name is your CalArts PIN or your email address, and then you create a new password and it will send it to your email.

If you just got in, it could be that they haven't gotten a chance to review your file yet. Also, did you make sure to meet the FASFA deadline? Did you have it sent to CalArts? You need to submit that before they can process your financial aid eligibility (this is odd because Film School Confidential and other sources state that CalArts doesn't provide need based aid, but instead awards scholarships based on portfolio?? I don't know if this is outdated now or what really the criteria is).

I guessed so much about the acceptance but just wanted to ask.

I am an international Student (From India) and hence i am not eligible for the fed/state aid. I only have scholarships/grants. This is the primary reason i'm going to wait for a while before making any decisions. I thought i'll also speak to a few current students.

And I did call up the financial Aid office and they said i was in the second round of decisions 'coz i missed my deadline by a day. So ill probably wait for a week before deciding.

Also, being an international student I'd like some of you guys to help me out with my decision re the facilities,etc since i can't make a trip there myself.
