As an amateur/pro and aspiring directors, imagine if one day your film is pirated, but as an effect it is widely watched. Are you happy with it?

If I'm the director, frankly speaking, I would be way happier to have my movies watched widely (although by piracy)rather than gain lots of money. Because to me, appreciation can't be done by money alone. What do you guys think?

Actually, there have been a number of independent films that have found financial success through file sharing. So much so that a bunch of the major torrent sites started a distribution service called Vodo that puts the films on their homepages. If you think about it, that's actually a couple million people to exposure from.

Plus Hollywood made over $10 billion last year, I don't think piracy is hurting them too much.
