If you're interested in digital filmmaking specifially, there's an event I'm going to in NYC in October (14-17) called Digital Life that might be worth checking out-- it's basically a big consumer electronics show where you can preview a lot of new technolgies that are coming out, in an environment where you can chat with experts, compare, etc. They'll have a bunch of the new cameras, editing software, etc.


Plus there's some seminar stuff on organizing and editing video, digital effects, etc. If you're in the area, it might be worth checking out-- their website is www.digitallife.com.
