Hey everyone!
I am in need of some help. There is a really good chance that I might get a freelance gig doing music videos and such and I have no idea how much I should charge.
My profile is as follow:
Apple Certified Pro in Final Cut Pro, Level 2
some experience in motion and DVD studio pro
3 + years of Adobe Premiere with experience with adobe encore as well as sorenson squeeze.

past works:
Teaser trailer for a production class
web video for the Obama Campaign for Change for the ga.barackobama.com
music videos for an anime club on campus.

I'd like to get some suggestions as to how much the industry charges and what is considered fair. Thank you so much!!

you have a pretty good background. my film prof did some freelancing and i think she charged $60-120 per hour. it really depends on who your client is and how much they can afford

I have been told they do music videos for new bands that are then pitched to companies like VH1 and MTV. My main goal is to find out how much I should be charging for my experience and what the average would be.
p.s. thank you for the estimate. I have a feeling your professor has much more credentials than I do though which would put me somewhere lower than her. BUT! keep the suggestions coming. This stuff will be great research for me.
Thank you again and don't forget, keep your comments flowing, I need all the input I can get!

Thanks again!

No need to be offended by my newest favorite site...after all, the first listing is the guild you need...the very info that you specifically asked me for at 10:08pm on June 24, instead of asking Google.

If the answers aren't handed to you, go look for them.

No i'm not offended.
Yes google is convenient, but searching on Google also brings up a plethora of sites many legit and many not so much. The reason I asked for a name was because I wanted to make sure that the site is indeed the correct one.
I would be real unhappy if I managed upon a scam site to begin with. that's all.

One of my professors used to charge $50/hour. She now teaches because she's got kids, so I think that this was a few years ago.
