The American Pavilion Student Filmmaker Program at the Cannes Film Festival is a 17-day internship/educational program that takes place at the Cannes Film Festival each May. For the past nineteen years, The American Pavilion has offered this unique program, giving students an opportunity to participate in this industry-only event. It is currently the only North American Student Program officially recognized by the Festival (click here to view the official Festival correspondance) . Program alumni have come from NYU, UCLA, AFI, USC and other top film schools and have gone on to successful careers in the industry. Program benefits include a four-day pre-Festival orientation and tour of Cannes, workshops and seminars on the business of filmmaking, roundtable discussions with industry professionals (past speakers have included Brett Ratner [Director, “X-Men”, “the Last Stand”, “Rush Hour 3”], Michael Moore [Director, “Sicko”, “Fahrenheit 911”, “Bowling for Columbine”], Stephen Frears [Director, “The Queen”, “High Fidelity”]) and opportunities to attend Festival Screenings.
Please visit www.ampav.com for more information and to begin the application process. The application deadline for the 2008 Program is February 2, 2008.
See you in Cannes!

don't do this. they deliver a very compelling presentation at each university that they visit and get dozens and dozens of people to fall for it. you end up paying over $4000 to live in a dump hostel, work for free as a waiter, make no connections, and party with z list celebrities. they say there are no guarantees what you can get out of this opportunity...because there is literally nothing to get out of this opportunity. I am surprised no one else has written anything on this site. I will help you all by spreading the word.
