StoryPipe (storypipe.seattlewood.com) is a new video download service dedicated to getting the short-form video works of undiscovered filmmakers and musicians into the hands of a wide audience.

The premise is simple:
You provide us with a master of your short film, music video, documentary, video abstract... you name it... We'll host it and make it available to a large audience of internet video viewers. We will pay you for the downloads your film generates.

We are just starting out and in the "content gathering" phase currently. Financial and hosting details are still being worked out. We are arranging a deal with a handheld video viewer manufacturer to be a "featured channel" on their site which will draw thousands of viewers to your work.

We firmly believe in the DIY ethic of independent filmmaking and want to get your work in front of as many people as humanly possible.

For more information regarding submissions please send inquiries to submissions@seattlewood.com and legal inquiries to legal@seattlewood.com or call 206-441-2644.

Please download and fill out 2 copies of the release form, one to accompany the master and one for your records. The release form can be found at http://storypipe.seattlewood.com/docs/storypipe_release.pdf

Please send your full resolution masters to:
StoryPipe c/o Seattlewood
2415 Western Ave. Commercial Space 1
Seattle, WA 98121

Content is accepted in the following formats:
Media accepted:MiniDV, DVCam, DVD-(+)R(RW), CD-R(RW)

Hopefully you're aware that most student filmmakers (or at least most of the ones on this site) use copyrighted material in their productions. When this is the case, paying your submitters is quite illegal. I hope you're somehow covered there.

And also, I won't make a big deal out of this, but it's a little bit obnoxious to advertise your site on another site that provides a similar service. Especially when you take advantage of a message board meant for help and advice to advertise. I hope you won't make a habit out of that here. Sorry, but I'll have to close this topic.
