Welcome to Studentfilms.com, the online film discussion forum for filmmakers and students who are applying to film school, attending film school, need advice on making films, or just want to share their films with the world.
The Nokia Push project is a celebration of ingenuity and open technology, and we’ve developed two prototypes designed to work with the Nokia N8 that push the boundaries of what the device can do.
One is the Push KAPing (Kite Aerial Photography) prototype. By using two Nokia N8s that communicate with one another, filmmakers can now fly one from a kite rig whilst using another on the ground to not only see, but also control exactly what is being shot in full HD from above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptar26PeMjM
The other is the Push Skating prototype that takes the world of skate games away from the games console and back to the streets by allowing skaters' boards to communicate with their N8 to score every single little move they make.
But both those films just scratch the surface of what can be done with these prototypes.
We’re really pleased to announce that we now have 4 of each prototype to give away to anybody who can inspire us with a creative treatment of what they would do with one. We're also giving the winners a Nokia N8 handset and up to $1000 to produce their film.
UPDATE: Submission deadline extended to 22 October 2010
The deadline for Push N8 submissions has been extended by one week! We had so many requests for more time to develop their ideas that we decided to listen to the community and push the deadline back.
