I've decided to morph the Summer Short Film contest idea into a new thing on Studentfilms.com called "Homework".
Basically the idea is, every month or two there will be a new "assignment" that everyone can make a film on. There will no longer be a cash prize for the winner, just a free Studentfilms.com T-shirt and a free year of hosting for your film. There will also no longer be an additional contest fee to submit a film to the contest - just the normal $10 hosting fee.
This way there will always be people competing to make films on a certain topic and if you're having problems of thinking of ideas - well we'll think of them for you!
The first Assignment is:
"How Bob and Nancy got together."
The film must follow these requirements:
- The film must relate in some way to the above theme.
- The film can be no longer than 5 minutes.
- The film must be made specifically for this assignment and be original.
- You must use royalty free or original music in the film. NOTHING copyrighted can be in the film - this includes footage that you don't have rights to.
- You don't have to be a current student. Anyone can submit a film - as this is a "homework assignment" you are now in the school of Studentfilms.com.
The deadline for the contest is September 30th, 2007.
Contest Info:
- The fee for entering the contest is the normal $10 hosting fee.
- The winner will be decided by a poll on the forums.
- The prize for winning the contest is a Studentfilms.com T-shirt and bragging rights. :)
NEW DEADLINE:All films must be postmarked no later than September 30th, 2007.
If you have any questions about the contest, post them here or at any time.
Good luck!
