Our second filmmaker interview of 2020 is with the award-winning Estonian director Madli Laane who's engrossing coming-of-age drama THREE AUGUST DAYS was featured at last year's Edinburgh Short Film Festival. The film follows a young Estonian girl living in Tallinn during the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 and her relationship with a Russian boy, set amid the grinding realities of life in a country in crisis. This is a short film competition and hence ONLY Short Films should be submitted NO DOCUMENTARIES. The entries can be short digital animation films too on the topic. Our programme and dates for the Edinburgh Short Film Festival Programme at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2017 have now been finalised and we're excited to be able to reveal details about the screenings!
