It is our great pleasure to announce that the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE has been named by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences a STUDENT ACADEMY AWARD® qualifying festival.

What it means is that all films nominated in the Student Etudes Competition at Camerimage will qualify for consideration of the Student Academy Awards®, provided the filmmakers will otherwise comply with the Academy Rules, including being a full time student of an eligible film school and making the film as a part of the school work.

Just as our Student Etudes Competition, Student Academy Awards® were established to support and encourage excellence in filmmaking at the collegiate level. Past winners include such distinguished directors as John Lasseter, Pete Docter, Robert Zemeckis, Trey Parker and Spike Lee.

This distinction adds to the ever growing prestige of Camerimage Film Festival and the fact that since 2013 we have been an ACADEMY AWARD® qualifying festival in the Documentary Short Subject category.

CAMERIMAGE has already launched the selection process for its 25th anniversary edition which will be held in Bydgoszcz between 11th and 18th November, 2017. You can find more information via www.camerimage.pl/en/Submit-A-Film.html.
