Why do I need to TAG my thread?
Tagging a thread makes it much easier to find content on the site.

What should I TAG my thread with?
TAG it with something revalent to the thread. If it is about USC tag it "USC". You can get even more specific - "USC Admissions 2013" for example. The world is your oyster.

Can I TAG someone (a user)?
YES. Simply type the @ symbol and then the username and they will alerted about your post. A list of users should pop up as you type. Here's a user TAG example: Chris Wright

How do I add a photo next to my name.
To add an "Avatar" click on the triangle menu next to your name in the top right and select the Avatar option.

Can I rate a message?
Yes. Hover your mouse over the message and chose from the following options:

• Like
• Dislike
• Agree
• Disagree
• Funny
• Winner
• Informative
• Friendly
• Useful
• Creative
• Old (negative)
• Bad Spelling (negative)
• Dumb (negative)
• Flame (negative - use for flagging people engaged in Flame wars - personal attacks)

If a message gets too many "negative" ratings then it'll be hidden.

What are trophies?
You earn "trophies" for accomplishing certain things:

1. First Message (1 Trophy point) - Post a message somewhere on the site to receive this.
2. Somebody Likes You (2 Trophy points) - Somebody out there liked one of your messages. Keep posting like that for more!
3. Keeps Coming Back (5 Trophy points) - 30 messages posted. You must like it here!
4. Can't Stop! (10 Trophy points) - You've posted 100 messages. I hope this took you more than a day!
5. I Like It a Lot (10 Trophy points) - Your messages have been liked 25 times.
6. Seriously Likeable! (15 Trophy points) - Content you have posted has attracted 100 likes.
7. Addicted (20 Trophy points) - 1,000 messages? Impressive!
8. Can't Get Enough of Your Stuff (20 Trophy points) - Your content has been liked 250 times.
9. I LOVE IT! (30 Trophy points) - Content you have posted has attracted 500 likes.

What are points?
You earn points when you earn trophies. Once you earn a certain number of points your "User Title" will change.

• 0 points - "New Member"
• 5 points - "Member"
• 25 points - "Active Member"
• 45 points - "Well-Known Member"

How do I get notified of new posts to a thread?
If you reply to a thread you'll usually receive "Alerts" in the top right menu and in your e-mail if there's a new post in the thread. You can also be notified of new updates by clicking the "Watch Thread" in the top right of the post.

How do I see what new posts are on the site?
Click the What's New? link on the top menu bar.

What does it mean to "follow" a site member?
When you "follow" a site member you'll be notified when they post new threads or replies. To "follow" a user click on their name and choose "follow".

What does it mean to "ignore" a site member?
If you "ignore" a site member - you will never see any posts by that user. Nirvana. To "ignore" a user click on their name and choose "ignore".
