Hi, I've only just left film School in Sydney Australia. I've written a feature and have access to AU $250,000 budget. I have a team except for a producer. They are really, really hard to find in my country, even though I went to film school. My head film teacher, with lots of contacts can't find one for himself.
I have been introduced to someone who went to the same film school years before, who has produced a few short films, seems to know what he's talking about, seems to have a plan, enthusiasm but doesn't have the experience of producing a feature, or selling anything. He is asking AU $25,000 (US $19,000) for 3 months work. Is that excessive?
It's so hard to judge because I haven't been able to find a standard wage rate for film workers in my country. For 2012 yes. But not currents rates.
