It's a conversational piece, and the conversation is pretty unseasoned mashed potatoes.
Given that the film's about theology, there were so many cool topics that could have been explored. The 'suffering paradox' even comes up, but there's no rebuttal to it.
Although the endings metaphor of blowing out the light as the chap passes away is a bit on-the-nose, it's well acted, and the male leads final line of "I don't know", is a nice summary for why religion is also in it's dying moments.
