MALAM BUAYA 001 commits fully to its POV horror approach, and the absence of dialogue places strong emphasis on visual storytelling and atmosphere. The first-person perspective creates immediacy and pulls the viewer directly into the experience, allowing tension to build through framing, pacing, and sound rather than exposition. The confined setting and steady progression toward the final scene effectively establish a sense of unease.*

The central attack sequence, however, could benefit from more intensity and sharper physical choreography to strengthen the realism and perceived stakes of the confrontation. In the closing scene, as the restrained victim watches the killer sharpen tools, the visual tension is strong, but the extended vocal reactions feel slightly overstated. A more restrained performance or subtler sound design might enhance the psychological dread and make the ending even more unsettling.

A good bit of suspense and build-up but also a bit simplistic - not sure if he is a serial killer or just on a personal vendetta.. I like the keyhole viewpoint as well.

The short film was decently well done, and I respect the determination done on the actors part, although I was a bit confused on the plot and what was going on.
