Missing - a7sii Short Horror Film (4k)

A quick short film to test out my new rokinon 85mm lens and my rokinon 35mm lens. Shot in 4k in slog 3.Credits:Director, DP, Editor - Noah KiriuVictim - Seth MillsBackground Man - Jordan Waggonerodds and ends - Joe Clark
Pros: I like the focus pulling in the film. And how sharp the film was. The depth of field was used really well in this film. Also the audio was clear and brought another element to the film.
Cons: It felt like an experimental film. The story wasn't super complex or anything and didn't have any super interesting element or a twist. It just kinda was an ok film. I think there were way too many angles and shots for such a short piece.

It felt like you came up with the shots for the film when you got there so next time try to storyboard and write down shot ideas and find what best way to tell the story. Knowing how to run and gun is great but when you do that when you are trying to make a film, you end up shooting way too many takes and angles.

Good job and I think it looked good.

i love the A7sii. I have heard it is a great camera. It looks great. But you could try to start to color correct and color grade your footage and it will push your film to the next level. Trust me!Also your actor was a little cheesy. Cheesy acting is always hard to avoid but that will be less common when you get better at directing. I think doing little pieces consistently is a great way to get your name out and practice your craft. It really helps!also I'm so jealous of your 4k.
Pros: Good content.
Cons: A little slow.
Good content. Provokes anticipation and chill. I'd like to see an extended length or expansion of the vision attempting. The color and quality of the film mesh well and I believe it has tremendous potential.

I found it to be a little slow. Some scenes could be eliminated enough so it gets to the punch-line faster, or, the thriller side of the movie.
This was surprisingly effective. I was impressed at how compelling the visuals were with the sound effects. The long take of the dark figure walking toward the man sitting really added to the build. For the simplicity of the concept, it really did keep me involved. Jump scares tend to do that!
Pros: Composition, Editing, Sound
Cons: Story
From the first frame itself I was hooked, it straight took me on the edge of my seat as the setup was apt, which later built the tension. Overall cinematography was very good. As the film progresses most of the trick was done by the sound design which felt professional. The shot where the protagonist looks around as if he heard someone didn't feel that natural and could have been better if there were couple of shots of he looking around. Editing was good, as for such short duration it was perfectly edited. I rated 4/5 on only one drawback which is story. Everything was good but it would have been brilliant if in such short span of 58secs or a minute, viewers were also shown what the protagonist was doing on the phone, or why the guy in the mask kidnapped the protagonist. This felt a climax without a beginning. To sum up, was a very good creepy horror short. Would love to see such more.
