Air compressor ( for squib use)

Anyone have any idea where i can get a cheap air compressor for squib use? I searched ebay and got price ranges from like $20-$1000 lol. Air compressors sound like the easiest way for our movie group to produce squibs effects. Can someone please help me find some links to cheap air compressors (that work) for squib use?

Get mad cats fireworks. Put a piece of cardboard and tape it to your actor. Then put the mad cat fireworks on top. Light the firecracker and have your actor run for whatever shot. bam, smoke flies out. Wonderfull affect. It's used on that really big war movie on this site

I wouldn't buy online or mailorder because s/h will be high on a heavy air compressor. Check out your building supply stores or classfied ads in the paper. Or, go rent one for only the days you plan on useing squibs.

that sounds pretty good. I think Darkfire and I have narrowed it down to either using air compressors or insecticide sprayer. Does anyone have a price range for a cheap ass air compressor?

use the incesticide sparayer thing, it's really tight if you get it right, hey that rhymed.

yea i think im gonna go with the insecticide thing. I tryed making one today but i had the wrong type of sprayer(my nozzle thing was built in on the end of the hose thing) but im guessing they are pretty cheap, so ill just go pick one up at a hardware store. The hard part was making that dagg'on hole in the hose part. But if anyone does find some info on an air compressor please post it here. Thanks
