I think the new products are really cool, especially the new Mac Mini. The idea is to finally give PC users something to think about, they can no longer whine about macs being "too expensive" and I praise the people at Apple for releasing a product like this.

The Mac mini and the iPod shuffle are exactly what consumers wanted. Apple will hit home runs with these.

As for the new iLife and iWork; awesome. I've already ordered them both.

the mac mini deffinately looks like it's going to be a hit. the only thing i would worrry about is them over heating, but that may not be a problem (and hopefully isn't). if they get really good reviews and everything, i may buy one over the summer.

True, but as a pc user i think i would still drop the bills on a G5 before i bought one of these. I think the real market here isnt so much curious pc users as it is newbies to computers as a whole who will be more inclined to go with newbie-friendly apple at a much more approachable price point. I think there will also be a lot of pc developers jumping on these to do cross-platform testing and development. I might buy one for that if ever swipe one up. Attach a monitor/keyboard/mouse switch and you are in business with near zero deskspace loss. nice. Definitely a good move for apple and i gotta say i love the design and form factor.

Actually NOW is not the time to buy Apple stock. (The time to buy was a year ago)

You're buying high...in hopes that it will go higher...when there's a much better possibility that it will go down. Remember...the bigger they are...the harder they fall. But then again it might go up too. Who knows...it's a gamble.

Dunno...I've been reading tons of investing books recently. Hindsight's 20/20. I wish I had Apple stock a year ago.

I'd say perhaps the time to buy would be in a couple months from now when the frenzy is over. Or you could use "dollar cost averaging" to buy the same amount each month to ease price fluctuations. Geesh...I have been reading alot about investing now.

Go buy Personal Finance for Dummies or Mutual Funds for Dummies before you invest in anything. (or better yet - get them for free from your local library) They're actually great books. And I'm a Dummy.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I was afraid it was high now, and I should have bought some ages ago. I'll read a book before I make a move - Dummies books usually work well for me

I love Apple brand, the electronics from Apple are really high powerful,of course, the price of them is always a little higher ..

please don't resurrect old threads especially when they're seven years old...

and no, apple products arent' that powerful. they're midranged products. compare the specs with what the industry is offering right now next time.

I just started a new thread about computers. I was wondering Mike V. I am applying for graduate school do you have any idea what is the best computer for film school? I know I ask this in another thread but I was wondering is Apple the best for film school? What do other students use? Do they use the newest products or can a person get by with an older computer?

What is the industry using? I know look it up online but I do I know what information I can trust. Also do most students have a lap top or desktop or both?

I've answered your thread and will proceed to lock this one so that people can't resurrect this thread again.
