beta/digi-beta

Go to a television station or any production house. They'll probably charge 20-50 bucks for the dub.

Are you sure the film festival doesn't require the original format to be film or digi/beta? For submission purposes, most festivals just want a vhs tape.
 
I dunno but I think mattmckenna may be referring to a viewing copy? These usually work well. I had a film screened on Beta SP on the big screen next to other 16mm shorts and it looked rather comparable. There's always the question of lower resolution, but some of the 16mm stuff was pretty rough anyways.
 
go to digi beta if you have to do a rpo copy, and run off a master copy for youself so you don't have to pay a transfer fee in the future. Digibeta is currently the broadcast standard. Practically every decent tv station, post production house and production companies use it as their master format. Awesome quality.
