I absolutely love this film. It's a bit before my time, I know. But Eastwood is truly perfect in this role. I saw Magnum Force (the first of many sequels) as well. It was just as good as the first. THis movie inspired me to write a movie idea I'd been thinking about. How cool is Dirty Harry.

Pretty cool film --- which Dirty Harry film had the scene where Clint clotheslines these 2 bad guys on motorcycles with his car door?
 
The DIRTY HARRY movies are great. There are a million quotable lines and scenes - at least from the first three. I didn't care too much for the later ones.

One of the funniest came from THE ENFORCER (I think) where he was busted and sent to sit on an Inspector testing panel - administering oral tests to officers wanting to make Inspector. Tyne Daly was a meter-maid who was taking the oral exam and there was a stuffy lady - Ms. Gray - who was overseeing the exams for the mayor on behalf of women's rights (it was the 70s, ok?).

Eastwood gives Daly a hypothetical situation - "Ms. Gray is standing on a street corner and propositions a horse . . . " After the room erupts in yelling and disgust at his question, Eastwood follows up with, "I just want to know what the hell law's been broken besides cruelty to animals"!

I love that scene!
