Editing Instructional DVD's for Newbies?

I'm reading a book I just got on editing - Cut by Cut. I was thinking how cool it would be to buy a DVD with a professional editor talks you through a whole movie scene by scene explaining his cuts on that film. Also it would be nice if the scenes were stopped and reviewed by the editor and other things. Is there such a thing out there for people wanting to learn the art of editing?

there is none that I know of...
your best bet is to simply watch the movie and try to understand the shot choices. Think about timing. count the beats between the shots. and also why they made a cut then and why they chose that particular shot (WS as opposed to MS, etc etc)
Now in terms of editing books, I would rather suggest you getting the official editing book for the software you're using (Final Cut book by Apple or Avid book by Avid, etc etc). There you'll learn the technical aspects of the software and also some theoretical aspects of it. I hope that helps.
