what the hell was Tobe Hooper thinking when writing "EATEN ALIVE"!?!?! I rented this movie about five months ago hoping it'd be awesome...but it wasn't. I could barely sit through it.
On the subject of Tobe Hooper fouling up, Texas Chainsaw Massacre II anyone??? I had heard from forums this was a decent sequel....wrong. The movie was beyond awfull. The whole location and setting for the new Leatherface home was stupid!!!!!!!! A freaking abandoned carnival circus hell hole? Decorated with christmas lights?! And the score was awfull!!! Then what pissed me off it that it ruined Leatherface. It was confirmed that Leatherface is a retard (he communicates through pig squeling and grunts. One scene you can see him doing a "retard sterotype" hand slapping chest) but in TCM II they made Leatherface have feelings and seem less retarded and less crazy maniac. What was he doing? trying to make us feel for Leatherface? We're supposed to be scared of this guy! He decapitated a guy in the prologue and now we're supposed to feel for him? Thats a huge mistake for a lot of slasher and horror movies, making us feel for the wrong characters.
