Best Film Sequence

Personally Barbarian Horde in Gladiator was one of my favorites. It may not be the most dramatic thing ever, but it still gets my heart racing just watching with the fantastic score.

This topic sure has a long life. I've remembered some more:

Hero - the scene in the rain with the old man playing the stringed instrument while they fight.

Jurassic Park when the guy gets eaten off of the toilet.

The opening to Star Wars IV, with Darth Vader entering the diplomatic ship.

The Usual Suspects, when there's a steadicam moving shot of Verbal Kent's feet slowly changing from a gimp walk to a perfectly normal gait, and then him cracking his knuckles out of that weird position he had them in, lighting a cigarette, and getting in the car.

definetly in Alien where the captain is in the air shafts on the radio to Ripley and the Alien comes and gobbles him up

In a vague order:

1. "Wings of Desire" - Library sequence

2. "LOTR: Return of the King" - Sequence when Pippin sings a song to the king, and Faramir rides to certain death

3. "Crash" - two absolutely brilliant sequences. The first is Matt Dillon pulling the lady from the car. Second is the Middle Eastern man "shooting" the girl. The combination of score, sound and photography is completely mindblowing.

4. "LOTR: Two Towers" - When the Ents go on their final march

All those scenes bring tears/shivers. Whew.

i think there are a thousand better sequences in the LOTR trilogy than those 2. How about the opening scene of Two Towers? or Boromirs death scene at the end of fellowship? Some of my favs from Mr. Jackson

"3. "Crash" - two absolutely brilliant sequences. The first is Matt Dillon pulling the lady from the car. Second is the Middle Eastern man "shooting" the girl. The combination of score, sound and photography is completely mindblowing."

Please tell me you're joking?

Hook, line, and sinker

I didn't particularly like Boromir's death scene, I think Mr Jackson uses far too much of that blurry effect, which I think sucks. And I don't remember the opening scene of "Towers"...

No, I'm not joking, Evan.

Yea those scenes in crash were great. I'm not being sarcastic either. Maybe that's why M.M. and I make movies togeather

. As for my pick, I would have to say one of my favorites (realy, no one can pick a favorite sequence) is the bamboo forest fight in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Not to mention any sequence of Steven Seagal kicking ass. I forget which movie, but I remember one scene where he walks into this little french cottage with an old lady in it. It is in a HUGE green field. He looks around, mumbles something, and then comandoes burst in the windows, guns blairing, and sure enough the man kick's their asses. Oh, the house burns down too in huge explosions. The cause of the fire is unknown, I would only assume it was his awesomeness.

Are you saying the hallway battle at the end of the Matrix? That was awesome, but only in the context of the rest of the film. I think stand-alone, the dojo fight was by far the best.

Interesting choices, Dan....though I admit I haven't seen most of those movies.
