Coming to Get You

It's time to get ready, because he's coming to get you!

In a group of 3 (plus talent) we were instructed to create a 1 minute short film that included at least 1 pan and 1 tilt. That was it. We had up to 1 week pre-production, 4 hours filming, and 4 hours in the edit suite. The result was the best first feature for Griffith Film School's "Screen Production" major, 2006.

Thanks for the lovely reviews!

After putting the vid up here, I was a little hesitant about what kind of reception to except - given indeed that we made it in 2006 (!) - so it was lovely to get some friendly feedback.

Colby came up with the idea for the story, which I then scripted with the tune "Run!" in mind. Anthony was both talent (ie "Jack") and casting director (ie he knew drama student, Aerlyn), so it all fell together, with filming taking place on site at Griffith University - because we weren't allowed to take the cameras away at that point!

Whilst we did indeed make the best film for this assignment, we were only competing with about 12 other groups. We did however form a strong friendship during the year, working together on 2 more films, and myself and Anthony on 1 more after that.

Most of my films were added on my YouTube channel - "thecosmichobo" - in 2006/7, however I have since created a new channel "tswheaton" specifically for my film work, allowing the original channel to continue purely as my Doctor Who fanfic obsession. As such, whilst the view-count is very low, this video had originally reached a whopping 5,000 views. Wow.
