The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

This movie comes out October 17th and I just saw the trailer...

...and I thought it looked like it may make a decent sequel!

The cinematography looks really nice and all, and but I don't know about the "house". It looked too scary whereas the original didn't...just your "average" house.

But the movie still looks like it's going to be pretty cool, most likely not better than the original...but better than all the sequels FOR SURE.

I just hope they keep to the original with Leatherface being a retard...whereas in the sequels he wasn't.

Check out the trailer here

yeah awesome trailer, but whether or not it will be a decent remake is yet to be seen. We shall see...

We can't stop here, it's bat country!

I wanna see how they deal with the whole "deaths" because it seems it's not like in the original where they all wondered off seperately and got butchered...in this they are all together, I can tell because the one guy yells out, "Whoeve is out there come out!" ...

either that or that's a totally different house (that two story scary mansion, which looks cool) and they are leaving the Leatherface house a secret for now...and the "scary" house belongs to that guy with no legs.

I dunno.

I wanna know what the "family" is going to be handled.

I wish they would've kept the Hitchhiker character from the original, he was creepy, looks like he's being replaced with some chick who seems traumatized from the "family"

oh well, I guess it's always nice to bring something new to the table

I hope it's good. The original was pretty darn scary... It looks good although the girl in the tanktop will descract me... Hollywood and their pretty actresses.

the great part of the first one was that it was low budget. it looked like one of those films that were just nutured and loved by the director and other crew members. the original tcm will always be the greatest horror film to me. and the remake or sequel or whatever the **** it is leaves another bad taste in the mouth of this filmmaker.

You like the retarded aspect of "Chainsaw", why dont you watch the "Cabin Fever" trailer.

It looks like an odd movie.

So you're saying that if the original was better funded, the director/crew/cast wouldn't have cared about it as much? It wouldn't be as good?

Give me a break. You haven't even seen the movie yet and you're complaining about it. I think it's a good idea to see what someone could do with this story and a fairly decent budget.

I'm going to go see it. I hope it doesn't have the whole hollywood commercial horror aspect to it. But oh well.

I think this film does not need to be remade. I remember that the producers said the remake is going to be less violent and more psychological. have these guys even seen the orginal. I think micheal bay needs to have a chainsaw shoved up you know were.

I have such sights to show you

Im always freaked out by any Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Mainly because the first (and I supposed this new one) is loosly based on a true story back in like the 50's. That house, that family, and htat weird guy with a mask all happend at one point.

That scares me.

Actually it's based loosely on real events...that actually made a movie about the true events called "Ed Gein" The movie sucks BTW, don't see it. But the only connection between Ed Gein, a serial killer, and Leatherface & the Family is Ed Gein used to dress up like a woman and wear skin made from people. His room was also decorated much like the Leatherface house (bones and skin lamps ...ect.) Ed Gein also dug up graves, (like the Hitchhiker did) and steal stuff...he also dug up his dead mother and kept her in her room boarded up...the reason he killed people is because he was....crazy I guess....heh....he had a bad childhood (like most serial killers) and his dad was a pig farmer or something so he once witnessed his dad butchering a pig and it scarred him for life or something. This story also inspired Hitchcock's "Psycho" and "Silence of the Lambs"

So there is still yet to be a real chainsaw massacre.

The remake was once said to be tonned down in violence (which makes no sense considering the first one had NO GORE, except some blood and IMPLIED gore) but this was just a stupid rumor, people who have seen it already say it's pretty violent and gory...

...and yeah, Chainsaw is a great psychological thriller...the hitchiker is one of the creepiest characters on film...ever.

I am pretty excited to see how this flick turns out. It will be Michael Bay's Producer debut. I am expecting this movie to have a great director of photography, and involve alot of movement with the camera, and the story to be fast, and well paced. Like Jerry Bruckheimer, I expect Michael to be very hands-on with the production, so therefore it should be a good one.

....they don't royally fuc/k it up by making it MTV...ya know, speeding up the film, then slowing it back down...

I just don't want it to look like it came out of a Hit Hop music video.

It's supposed to take place in the '70s so it would be retarded to have it do all those modern MTV style crap.

Right kyle,

I hate the way MTV films anything. Have you seen CRIBS. It makes my head hurt watching them speed up and all those fast cuts. Its going to give someone brain damage sooner or later.

Ouch, it hurts even thinking about it.

i guess your right. i should never judge that the new tcm i sjust taking fame off the original and that it will totally put shame to the original masterpiece (much like psycho remake). i will go see this movie because its wrong to judge films or remakes i havent seen even if ive never seen a good remake before. and then i will walk out of the theatre and politely ask my friend to RUN ME OVER REPEATEDLY WITH HIS TRUCK! YES REPEATEDLY WITH HIS TRUCK! because once again a remake produced soley for money has left a **** taste in my mouth for another classic film.

Thats like the only show I watch on MTV. I think it's a pretty cool show actually, my dream is to be on it someday...they'd walk in and my friends would all be in the background smoking up

But yeah, they really overdue their cliche style of speeding up and repeating images...if they did it a few times in the show, it'd be ok, but they do it WAAAAAAY too much, It makes it hard to see whats in the actual room.

But back on Chainsaw Massacre...
....umm...yeah, I really wish they'd stop remaking everyfilm...I still wanna see this movie cause I'm a die hard fan of the original, but remakes are...stupid. God, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next five to ten years they begin remaking movies like "JAWS" and "THE FRENCH CONNECTION"

I just hope people after seeing the remake will go out of the theatre and say, "Hey! Lets go rent the original!" so they can atleast discover how much of a classic it really is...nothing like the rough quality of the original film (which I feel helped it) can be copied. It just looked so great...it had this dirty yellow look to it. too me, thats what Texas should probably look like; hot air, dead yellow grass. Beautifull.

thats what i was saying before. there was an art to the look of it. and a top of the line camera and crew with the greatest evolutions in film would have not done it right. the end scene with leatherface and the old **** stain film look wouldnt have been as good in the crisp clear picture.

the sound was awesome aswell, I loved the ending scene, right when Sally breaks out through the window...and it's like...just dead silent and she has a look of confusion and terror on her face, so she gets up and starts gimping away, then the hitciker comes running out...then as we're on a long shot of them running down the driveway we hear the chainsaw starting up inside the house, everytime I hear and see that scene I get a quiver just from the shear sound and picture quality. It's one of the best endings in my opinion.
